  • PANORAMA ROUTE

    Mind blowing scenery along the upper ridge of the Drakensberg rival some of the most scenic around the world. Granted one is blessed with a day of good weather and sunny skies, it is definitely a trip worth taking.

    Not only does the Panorama Route offer the most remarkable vista's over the Lowveld, it is also home to a number of phenomenal geographical features such as waterfalls, canyons, gorges, potholes and much more.  All of these natural aspects are interspersed by 3 small but very characteristic towns - Graskop, Sabie and Pilgrim's Rest.  Coming from each direction, the Panorama Route converges into the 3rd largest canyon in the world - the Blyde River Canyon.

  • HIKING

    Imagine mountain slopes covered in grassland, uninterrupted views of the lowveld standing chest deep in Fynbos with sheer cliffs plunging over 700m to the foot of the escarpment.  Indigenous forests consisting of Yellowood, Cabbage Trees & Ironwood wrapped around sheltered kloofs filled with waterfalls and crystal clear pools.  The sound of water droplets on leaves and the call of the colourful Knysna Turaco with cold morning mist covering the massive tree tops.

  • HOEDSPRUIT ENDANGERED SPECIES CENTRE

    One of South Africa's leading conservation and rehabilitation centres.  A knowledgeable tour guide will share insights into their inspiring conservation work, which varies from a well-respected cheetah breeding programme, to the rehabilitation of victims of rhino poaching, orphaned elephants, wild dogs and many other wild animals that need a place of refuge, rehabilitation or sanctuary. Proudly operational for 30 years.

    Their standard daily tours are of 2 Hour duration. "Cheetah Focus Tours" include the "Cheetah Run" - watching the cheetah chase a lure at full speed, a drive through an enclosure where guests can marvel at wild dogs feeding, and the Vulture Restaurant, for guests to observe vultures circle and descend to feed off the ground.  Available Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 07:30 - 08:00.

  • MOHOLOHOLO

    Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is home to many abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife. 

     

    When possible, rehabilitated birds and animals are returned to the wild and those who are not so fortunate due to the nature of their injuries are used for educational purposes for the general public who visit the Centre.

    Interaction between the animals, birds and visitors to Moholoholo is permitted under controlled conditions.

  • HOT AIR BALLOONING

    With the early morning rays creeping over the bushveld horizon and in the crisp morning air, experience the magic of a flight in a hot air balloon with the Drakensberg Escarpment forming an amphitheatre in the background.

    It will be the most exciting flight you will ever experience, with  pictures and views to last a lifetime.

  • CANYON BOAT CRUISE

    Take a scenic cruise on the Blydepoort Dam to experience astonishing views of the Blyderiver Canyon, a natural wonder that forms part of the Northern Drakensberg, boasting views of the Three Rondawels, The Kadishi Waterfall and Mariepskop.

  • ELEPHANT INTERACTION

    The up close and personal experience with an elephant is both humbling and magnificant.  Something you will never forget.

    The Jabulani Elephant-Moments experience offers a unique opportunity to learn more about elephants, as well a unique and inspiring story, of a brave little elephant called Jabulani, and a rescued herd, all of which got a miraculous second chance in life, nearly twenty years ago.
